SHERBET CREATES CUBAN FANTASY FOR FRENCH RADIO

Sherbet's latest film is for French Radio station Radio Nova, through Y&R Paris. Sherbet was commissioned to create the short as part of a series of online films to be shown on the Radio Nova website and at music festivals.

Y&R creatives Jean-francois Bouchet and Jessica Gerard wanted the films to showcase the different genres of music featured on Nova. They selected director James Wignall after being struck by his lively and colourful mix of motion graphics and animation.

In the film, government officials appear to secretly eavesdrop on an elderly Cuban man as he chats to friends. As the old man picks up his guitar, the agents react and surprisingly begin to dance along with the rest of the inhabitants of the sleepy town. It turns out that the agents weren't spying on local renegades as first implied, but were trying to catch the spirit and energy of music on the street.

The film is set to the beautiful Rima Caribena by Las Ondas Marteles, a big favourite on Nova's playlist. See some of the other projects in campaign at novaplanet.com/pub_radio_nova/
