Following the success and popularity of the multi award winning Irn Bru 'Phenomenal Xmas' (Snowman), The Leith Agency commissioned Sherbet to produce a follow up 60" Irn Bru ad, this time featuring a comedy mix of live action and cartoon animals. The agency and their client AG Barr, needed hand drawn, traditionally cute and cuddly cartoon animals, to maximize the ad's punchy and outrageous humour.

Animation Director Dennis Sisterson and a Sherbet team animated the cast of cartoon characters, which were designed by Laurie J Proud. The live action was directed by Chris Mudge at MTP, with animation and comping completed in house at Sherbet. The animation was created using pencil drawing, to create authentic and traditional 2D cartoon characters. The clean drawings were traced and coloured digitally. The finished material was thern composited by Tony Comley and Alex Robinson, who also added additional lighting, shadows and reflections.
